Deus et veritas

Temples - whatever their denomination - are sacred places.  It's where we can commune with a greater power then we can know or understand.  They are places to practice faith, to deepen spirituality, to experience humility. They are places to look up - both physically and metaphysically.  A place to seek truth no matter how difficult that can be at times. For me, they are also a place to 'be' with my family members who have left this earth. 

These images are of St Anthony's basilica in Padua.  It is still exquisitely beautiful despite the patina gained from hundreds of years of existence, which is a bit the same as the faith itself, no?
